We’re excited to introduce the new TattvaGlobal application, designed to help you find balance in your life, work, and gaming through the power of Tattva Hours. Available on the web and through Microsoft Teams, TattvaGlobal guides you in aligning with the five fundamental elements for better productivity, creativity, and overall well-being.

Tattva hours represent a system of five fundamental elements, known as tattvas, which are essential for the proper flow of energy in life, work, and virtual worlds. Each tattva has its own energy, influence, and optimal uses that change throughout the day. We will introduce you to each of the tattvas, their significance, and how to utilize them not only in daily life but also for businesses, entrepreneurs, and PC gamers.

Tattvas have their origins in ancient Vedic philosophy, which describes the universe as being composed of five elements: ether (Akasha), air (Vayu), fire (Tejas/Agni), earth (Prithivi), and water (Apas). These elements exist in a constant state of harmony and influence every living being and event. Tattva hours divide the day and night into cycles, during which each tattva dominates a specific time segment, affecting our physical, mental, and spiritual processes.

The Cycle of Tattvas Throughout the Day

The tattva cycle begins each morning at sunrise and continues in two-hour intervals, with each tattva lasting approximately 24 minutes. This cycle repeats throughout the day and carries over into the night, where the tattvas have slightly different energetic effects.

Tattva Akasha (Ether) is the first Tattva of the day and begins at sunrise. It embodies the subtle energy of space, lasting for 24 minutes at the start of the two-hour cycle. This Tattva is ideal for meditation and inner focus. Tattva Vayu (Air) follows Akasha, lasting for another 24 minutes. It brings movement and dynamism, motivating us toward activity and flexibility. Tattva Tejas (Fire/Agni) is the third tattva, lasting 24 minutes after Vayu. It provides energy, strength, and courage for action. Its fire is essential for intense activities and physical performance. Tattva Prithivi (Earth) is the fourth in the sequence, lasting 24 minutes. It represents stability and solidity, supporting practicality and the establishment of a firm foundation in any activity. Tattva Apas (Water) closes the cycle as the fifth tattva, lasting 24 minutes. Apas brings fluidity and adaptability, supporting intuition and creativity. This cycle of tattvas continues throughout the day, with each tattva repeating approximately every two hours.

Calculating Tattvas After Sunset

After sunset, the tattva hours continue, but with a different effect. The energetic influence of the tattvas at night is softer and more directed toward internal processes, such as sleep, regeneration, and mental calmness.

The tattvas after sunset are calculated in the same way as during the day, with each tattva lasting 24 minutes, starting immediately after moonrise, which occurs after sunset. This nightly cycle influences our regeneration, emotional balance, and mental well-being. For example, Akasha at night can support deep sleep, while Vayu brings dreams filled with movement and creativity.

What Determines the Order of Tattvas?

The order of the tattvas is firmly established by Vedic tradition and depends on the moment of sunrise, which determines the beginning of the entire cycle. The cycle resets with each sunrise, meaning that the timing of the tattvas may slightly change based on the season and geographic location.

Tattva hours help us better understand how energy flows in the universe, allowing us to optimize our activities based on which tattva is currently dominant.
